In a short video project, I have mostly PAL API type 1 video clips but have created a title sequence based on a .jpg image at 750x576 pixels.
Unfortunately, after rendering the project to API type 1 video file, the title sequence suffers from interlacing ‘jitter’ (moving up and down a row of pixels 25 times a second).
This also happens with .jpg photos that I have inserted from source other than ‘save picture from video clip’.
Could someone please explain what I should do to remove the ‘flickering’ ?
1) should the ‘reduce flicker’ option remove this
a) completely or
b) partially ?
2) should I render the title sequence into a separate .AVI type 1 with ‘frame’ based before including it in the AVI type 1 video project ?
3) is there a means of setting
a) the .jpg image to frame-based rendering and the
b) the rest of the project as field-based ?
4) other ?
Thanks for any help

When overlaying still images, image sequences or non-interlaced animations over interlaced footage you should set the images Media Source Options to a Frame Type of "Frame" and check the Flicker Reduction box. This forces MSPro to generate the alternate fields necessary for interlaced video.
