Full version is not a TBYB (trial) SE, VE version. It is the whole program.
Did you purchase the full version or, did you purchase an unlock key for a TBYB version? If you purchased the full version, then you will have a serial number, received in the email that had the download links. If you purchased an unlock or license key, then they just email that key, and you unlock the TBYB version to a full, non-expiring version.
It is recommended to purchase the full version, uninstall any TBYB, then install the full purchased version. The problem you are having is one of the primary reasons for that.
Now to your question, if you are running Vista, then yes you should need the patch. While MF5 may be working ok now, don't count on it running ok very long.

I don't think you can now, since you've probably had MF5 for over 30 days. You would have to contact Element 5 to get a link to the full ESD version. You might try asking them, you never know they may do it.
As I stated before, the main problem with unlocking TBYB versions, is that for some reason the patches see the program still as a trial version, and not a full version. This is something that I think they should either correct with their patches, or just simply remove the ability to unlock trial versions.
