Flash not accepted

Post by billc »

I am using VS10 and all of a sudden it is telling me that my flash content is a "file mismatch".

I build my flash stuff using Swish, which VS10 has accepted before. Can you help?

Thanks,
Bill

Flash is treated like video and so you import it like you do a video.

In Swishmax what Flash version are you exporting to, SWF6, 7, 0r 8? I always use SWF6.

thanks, but I am doing both of those things. I open the "flash animation" file int he VS10 drop down menu, I then try to import my flash file as usual.

I do save things as SWF6 as well.

Have you recently upgraded the free Macromedia Flash player that the computer uses for playing flash animations in other programs? I found this to be the culprit, and reinstalling the previous version restored my use of Flash animations in VS.

Here's a quick swf that I put together in SwishMax. It will load and play in my VS10+. See if you can load it..

If you would like me to check your swf, you can email it to me, or upload it to Mediamax.com or any other hosting service, and I'll be glad to check it for you.

Thanks again, but I got the same "file mis-match" error from your movie that I have gotten with mine.

Do you think if I uninstalled VS10 and then reinstalled it it would make a difference?

Bill,

Did you try Ken's suggestion, of reverting your Flash Player to an earlier version? You might try it first, as it seems to mess with some people's VS flash player. If not then try doing a repair install, or clean install.

You can go to Adobe's website to get the Flashplayer uninstaller, then an earlier flashplayer. They keep numerous earlier versions available for download.

Here's where to get information on uninstalling (and the uninstaller) flash player: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgeb ... d=tn_14157

Here's the link to get earlier Flashplayer versions:
