Capture MPEG4 DVD with UVS 10+
I had VCR tape converted to MPEG4 DVD so that I could capture the MPEG4 DVD on UVS10 and edit the video. I cannot get UVS10 to capture the MPEG4 DVD.....Thanks, Dave

Do you know, or can you find out, what sort of mpeg-4 was used? There are several varieties. But I am not sure where you got your initial advice from. Video Studio has difficulty editing mpeg-4. Getting the original video converted to mpeg-2 would have been a much better idea, even if you would have required more DVDs to fit the same amount of video on them.
Given that it is mpeg-4, you cannot use the usual "Insert DVD/DVD-VR" command as it is not a video DVD. It is really an archive disk which happens to have video files stored on it.
Have you tried simply copying the files on the disk to your hard drive, and then simply using 'Insert Video' to open them in Video Studio?
But again, be aware that VS has difficulty editing mpeg-4. And if by chance it has used the H264 codec, then you may not be able to open it in VS10 at all. However, the soon to be released VS11 should be able to do that, and I believe it may do a much better job of editing mpeg-4 generally as well (I hope

Sorry, I am a little confused. Your original problem was stated to be not being able to capture your mpeg-4. But it now seems you can at least download it and insert it into VS.
Is your problem now that the conversion process does not produce usable video?
If so, can you right click on some unconverted mpeg-4 video within VS and copy down ALL its properties here please. Then do the same for one of the converted files: both the mpeg and AVI ones (WAV is an audio file format).
As I said in my earlier post, VS has difficulty with mpeg-4 generally, and some versions, notably that produce using the H.264 codec, it cannot deal with at all.
You might also want to Google for the freeware conversion program called SUPER (in capitals!) That might be able to convert your mpeg-4 to mpeg-2 outside VS, and then you import that for editing and authoring.

MPEG-4
The MPEG-4 was made with the dreaded H.264 codec! I have spent the last couple of hours trying to download SUPER but keep looping back to the preceding page, as described by multiple others. SUPER lists 3 or 4 things that will cause this, and I have tried to rectify them without success. I can, after some fooling around get UVS10 to play the MPEG4, but it will not capture it. Sounds like it would be very simple if I could just get SUPER to download. I have downloaded a lot of software, but have never had this problem. I really appreciate your help! Thanks!

If so, then there are several download sites for it at the bottom of that page.

Whoops! I see what you mean. I just clicked on the link I just gave, and it took me not to that page, but to the SUPER home page!!
Well, let's walk through it. On the home page, if you go to the bottom, there is a photo, and above it a paragraph starting with "Start downloading SUPER". Click that link, and it takes you to a page which looks almost identical, but under the first box (that starts with "Do NOT purchase...") the first line is "SUPER © is a FREE Multimedia software to download and use", with the last three words another link. Click on that, and for me, at least, it takes me to the page I gave the original link for above.
And at the very bottom of that page are 4 links to download sites for "SUPER © setup file"
Good luck!
