VideoStudio v10 plus Installation disk not recognised

Post by mikebosy1 »

Hi All
Have just purchased VideoStudio v10 plus. So with great excitement and anticipation started the installation process. Previously I had been told by Adobe that my CPU was not compatable with Premier Elements v3 so decided that I would go for Ulead. I already use VideoStudio v8 with great success.
However....... Following the insertion of installation disk, nothing happened! So I tried the bonus disk, nothing happened. Opening the Disk drive in My Computer, there was nothing there. Thinking my drive had bust I put other disks in and they were read with no problem.
I then tried the old VideoStudio v8 disk and that fired up straight away. A dark cloud appeared over my head! I read the required PC spec on product box, It requires an Intel Pentium lll 800MHz or higher. My CPU is an AMD Athlon XP 2.2 GHz. Does this mean I need an upgrade to run VideoStudio v10 plus ?

No it will run quite happily on an Athlon processor.
It sounds like you might have a faulty CD, is there another computer that you have access to to see if it is readable?

By the way, I am using an Athlon 2400+

Cannot install VideoStudio v10 plus

Post by mikebosy1 »

Hi again to sjj1805'
I tried installation disk in my laptop with a Pentium lll CPU. Worked OK. So now I think it's due to the AMD Athlon CPU. So tried again on desktop pc. No good as expected. Tried v8 again expecting it to fire up straight away, guess what, disk wouldn't open.
So I tried other disks as before on both DVD drives, nothing would open this time. So now I have to consider a system problem.
In the depths of dispair and clutching at straws I did a sytem restore to a point just before I did some video editing and burning last week, it worked, all is now OK and v10+ is installed.
I am worried as to what caused both drives to fail bearing in mind that they worked with other disks yesterday.
Regards

It might just be one of those mysterious things that rectify themselves after a system reboot. to be on the safe side in case your discs are a bit week due to the mass production process I would make a back up copy of each.

You are permitted in clause 2 of the end user license agreement to make one back up copy.

VideoStudio v10 plus Installation disk not recognised

Hi all
You won't believe this, to cut a long story short, the problem was due to backup software I had installed. When I had it installed my disk drives weren't recognised, every time I uninstalled it all was OK!
So I've ditched the backup software and now using a different backup program and running Ulead Studio v10 quite happily.
