I don't think so. Video Studio can that kind of thing....

1. Select the video files from the Media Clip list in the Add/Edit Media page.
2. Click Export selected clips and select from a list of file format templates. Select Fast Export DVD Compliant Video to save a DVD, VCD, or SVCD video in MPEG-2 format. Fast Export Video lets you export a non MPEG video file to the same format without having to convert it. Select Customize to save to other formats.
3. Locate the folder where you want to save these files, and then enter a new file name.
4. Click Save.

ssj, before I do what you said, when I make the actual slideshow, it gives me a choice to burn to disc, or create it in a folder, or create an .iso file. Which one of those do I choose to be able to bring it back up as a media file. I am lost.

You export the video file earlier than the burn screen.
It varies slightly between versions of MovieFactory

I am not at my Video Editing machine right now but from memory I think it is the same as version 5. Please view this link

You create the media file on the same page you started from. I guess we would call this page one.
Above the timeline click on the icon "Export Selected Clips" and select "Fast Export DVD Compliant Video", give the file a name and click OK to save and render the file.
Then you can save that project, start a new project and use that file to also burn a dvd. It's the same thing as creating a dvd to start with except you now have the actual video file to re-use, backup or edit etc.

Edit - Steve, didn't see your post.

John,
No problem - I must do a small tutorial on the export function as it differs between the various verions. I will put it on my "to do list"

Steve,
I find it's difficult to explain all the features in a few sentences. To many options and settings to explain. Options affect settings & settings can affect the options.

Oh, you know what? I was going directly to the "Create A Slideshow" tab when MF starts up instead of "Create a Video" I didn't realize that in the video tab that you can create the slideshow in there. I found where you render it to avi, so I am good to go now. Thanks for the help! I was using the trial of version 6 plus. :)
