VideoStudio 10 Freezing During Rendering
When I am going through the process of burning a project to a DVD, VideoStudio is freezing during the rendering process. It always freezes at the same point - 6% overall conversion and 44% title conversion. What can I do about this? Thanks!
What format are you converting from, and where did the file come from?
If you are using a highly-compressed format, you may need to try using a 3rd-party program to convert it to MPEG-2 or AVI/DV before bringing it into Video Studio.

These are .mpg files that VideoStudio has imported from my mini DVD-RAM. This process has worked great for me for a long time, but lately I have been having issues like this. This is a new batch of video clips - I had the same problem with the last batch. They all will play with no problems in VideoStudio, so I don't think they're corrupted.
OK, you have MPEG-2 files. MPEG-2 files don't cause nearly as much trouble as the MPEG-4 variations. These are .mpg files that VideoStudio has imported from my mini DVD-RAM.... They all will play with no problems in VideoStudio, so I don't think they're corrupted.
However, it is not uncommon for a (slightly?) corrupt MPEG file to play OK, but cause trouble when you edit or convert it. I call it "sneaky corruption".
Simply editing an MPEG file can sometimes corrupt it.... Or perhaps the editing process makes the hidden corruption worse...
Both VideoReDo and Womble include tools to repair MPEGs. Both also offer free trials, so they might be worth a try. Some Ulead users have had good results with these repair tools.

The fact that VS is giving your this message that it is converting what is already mpeg-2 video during the burning process, is a clear indication that fort whatever reason, it does not think the mpeg-2s you have inserted are DVD-compliant. (I assume you have checked to make sure that 'do not convert compliant mpeg files' is ticked in the Options cogwheel icon in the bottom left of the burning screen...?)
Right click on one of the captured files within Video Studio, and copy down ALL its properties here please.

FYI, I haven't edited any of the video clips at all. I'm just compiling the clips onto a DVD and using VideoStudio to make the menu.
