I have read this forum. I have contacted support...
I have tried everything. Still Ntdll.dll CRASH!!
Support told me to download a patch on the site. However, NEVER TOLD ME WHICH ONE WAS RIGHT DOWNLOAD FOR MY PROBLEM!!!
Ulead looks great, I just wish the freekin' thing would work right.
I have an Amd Athlon 64 24gigs free 1.8ghz with 1gig of ram. (XP)
I keep it cleaned, sweep for .dll's that are no longer in use. I defragged before loading and still...its useless.
This seems to be such a common issue. When will Ulead fix the problem for good.
Its the software and not the computers!
I receive the error message when I try to Capture, therefore, I can not do anything with this software.
Ulead Video Studio 9e

I am sorry you are suffering this problem, and have no real idea how to fix it.
However, I should point out that ntdd.dll is in fact a Windows file not directly related to Video Studio at all. And if you do a simple Google search, you will find that a myriad of other programs also seem to cause that particular file to crash.
One suggestion I saw might help in relation to Video Studio. Since I have never experienced the problem, though, I have no idea whether it will work or not. You might however want to try it, and it seems to be easily reversible if in fact it does not rectify the problem.
If the crash occurs right after launching the program, and you've got XP SP2, then it may be "Data Execution Prevention" (DEP). Turn off DEP in the XP control panel:
System | properties | advanced | Data Execution Prevention.
If you've got it set for "all programs", then add Video Studio to the exception list.

Welcome to the forums,
First I want to point out that this is a User to User forum, so it is on very rare occasion a representative of Intervideo-Ulead appears and / or posts here. We are all consumers just as you are..
Now the file that you are having problems with, is it ntdll.dll or NTDLL.dll? There is a difference, and it is either a MS SP1 driver file or MS SP2 driver file. It has nothing to do with Ulead. Searching my system I find 4 copies of that file, all are Microsoft, and are found in the Windows\I386, Windows\System32, Windows\I386\System32, or Windows\Service Pack directories.
If your version is VS9 SE then there is no tech support for software that is included free with hardware.
Are you running XP or Vista? This will have a huge bearing on if your VS9se will run.
You stated that you have read the forum, did you read This?
We are going to need more information in order to help..
I done some searching for a post that I remembered concerning VS9 crashing when trying to capture. At that time it seems that the version of Windows Installer was causing this. Read This Post for further information..

There is support
There is no phone support, but there is e-mail support...
From Tech Support:
Maybe some of the files in your VideoStudio's installed software are not functioning, or one of the file is missing or has been corrupted and need to be replaced. Then please logon as Administrator and try the following suggestions to fix:
1) Clean up temp files from\Start menu\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\Disk Cleanup.
2) Uninstall VideoStudio 9 from control panel Add/Remove programs
3) Delete following folders
=>C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio
=>C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SmartSound Software Inc
=>C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\My Documents\Ulead VideoStudio
=>C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems4) Reinstall VideoStudio 9 again and all the components.
5) Please install the VideoStudio 9 Update Pack that you can download from our website:
http://www.ulead.com/tech/vs/vs_ftp90.htm
6)Make sure you have the latest WinXP compliant driver for your VGA card, sound controller and capture device which you can download from the internet.
Turn off all running applications including anti virus, norton utilities, or other memory resident programs, Internet connection, etc. Also, if you have hardware devices that are currently connected via USB port like compact flash card reader, removable drives, what have you, unplug them all before running VideoStudio.
Also, be sure that DMA is enabled for IDE hard disks.
1) Control Panel: System: Hardware tab: Device Manager.
2) Click "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers"
3) Double click on Primary IDE Channel: Advanced settings.
4) Be sure Current transfer mode is DMA. (Transfer mode should be DMA if available in default.)
Download the latest version of DirectX and other necessary updates from Microsoft:

Try here:

That thread about Windows Installer, scroll down and go to the other pages. There are several links, one such for the Windows Installer2.0, which is the version that VS9 seems to like..
