editing time of individual pictures (at once)

Post by brucefl »

hi
Is there a way to select a bunch of pictures and edit the individual timing of them all at once. I started a project, and noticed when I inserted more pictures they were a second shorter than the first ones. I want to shorten the rest of them, only way I see to do this is one at a time. I can highlight them, but is there a way to change the timing for each one down a second?
thanks Bruce

click on the first one in the timeline - move to the last one and hold down 'Shift' as you click on it (standard Windows Multi-select operation) - they should all now highlight.

Top left corner of screen - click on 'Clip' and select the top option - "Change image/Color Duration" - in the dialogue box which opens set the duration to be applied to every image - note the options are 'Hours.minutes, seconds and frames' - click 'OK' - job should be done.

only works with one clip

It is grayed out, when I do that. Only seems to work with one clip at a time?

Nope, can't do it either. In fact, no matter what I do I can't get Clip > Change Image/Color Duration to be active.

one at a time

After you initially import still pictures, all you can do is one at a time. Would be a nice feature to add next time.

Are the pictures in the top video track or in the overlay track ??

Works fine for me when they are in the top track which is where I would normally put pictures - I agree it does not work if you have the pictures in an overlay track.

In that case is it not easier to delete them all - set a new default duration in 'Preferences' and then insert them all in the overlay track again.
