Once the picture is an object you can right click on the image, go into properties and adjust the transparancy using the slider
You can also go into the fill category of the easy pallette and find the fades. Once your upper layer is selected (the one you want to fade into the background), double-click a fade. The black sections totally erase the picture while the white portions show through. I like to right click the fades in the easy pallette and make my own too!

All pretty impressive but please someone tell me how i actually go about getting a photo of mine turned into an image to then manipulate at will and place onto another image aka montage sceniaro?
Been looking on here, having a play with PI, and going back to the manual, the section on masks..but just dont get it!!
All im wanting to do is....Have a background image, then place onto that 2 or three other photos, ideally faded/blended in i suppose to look a little better.
Please, start at the beginning.

Ok, so im managing to cut n paste one image onto another..and even twisting it!...but im wanting to fade/blur out the edges of the pasted pic...used the EDIT -Fade button..all that two-tone malarky...black on white? but all it does is fade out the entire pic..how do i just get the edges faded? or any other fancy effects to blurr them?
Using PI12.

I suggest the free beginners work shop to be found here http://www.pircnet.com/
You should apply a mask to the second image prior to placing it on your back ground image as an object. To try this, open your base image and your second image. Apply any of the frame masks from the EasyPalette to your second image, convert the selection to object and copy this selection to the clip board. Change to the base image and select "Paste >As New Object". Resize the image to suit, rotate it if needed and, voila... there you are
