I need to make a video file which has different sound in the left and right channels. I have the sounds as separte files. Does anyone know if I can make VS play one of these in the left channel and the other in the right channel? If it's not possible with VS, can MovieStudio do it?
Thanks,
Gary

Can anyone help me further with this? I've added the audio I want in the left channel to the voice track, and the audio for the right channel to the music track. If I then display audio view and click the voice track, the balance slider is in the centre. If I move this to the left, to make the audio in the left channel only, as soon as I click play, it jumps back to the middle. The same thing happens when I try to edit the right channel.
Can you please advise me how to acheive this correctly?
Thanks,
Gary

Re: Separate (different) L & R audio channels
Yes, this post is dated but when searching "BALANCE" this is how far back I had to go.
I also was stumped with this, altering the audio balance. If I put it in audio view, click on the track and make an adjustment using the speaker diagram thing, it pops right back to center when I put it in PROJECT mode. However, what I have found is that when it's left in AUDIO VIEW and PROJECT MODE, now I can adjust the balance and hear it shifting, as well as see the level indicaters change. It will go back to center when it reaches the end of the track so it must be set in the beginning and the end. Experiment with the audio until you find the right spot, -0.35 for example, then go to the beginning of the project, set it, and the end of the project and set it.
I know it's a bit tricky, and frustrating, too. One way that might make it easier is just do the audio by itself in a seperate project. Make the file, pull up the other project and then insert it.
