Playback Problem with Intervideo Windvd8 Plat. Region Issue

My copy of Windvd8 platinum started acting weird. i have a few original ISOs of my favorite DVDs that are Under Region 2 Japan. I've switched the drive (its a virtual drive) over to that particular region and Windows media player plays the DVD very well with no problems, but Windvd says that "playback of content form this region is not permitted". very very strange seeing that my copy is fully registered and Windows Media player plays with no problems. I'm assuming its a Windvd problem. Furthermore in settings under the regions tab, all the options are Grayed out. Please Help.
