Custom made smart scene menus help

Post by Simba »

I have DVD movie factory 6 and I would love to make some of my custom menus to add to my other smart scene menus. I came across Steve's tutorial on creating them in photo impact. I have paint shop pro 9 and would like to know how I can use this program to create these. Can I use this program or will it not do what I would like? Is there a certain process I have to go through? Why can't I just create all the images and put them into the correct folder in mf? Any help or tutorials would help me a bunch! And is there anywhere I can get pre-made ones that users have made & shared? I found the link Steve listed, but is this the only area I can find them. Thanks in advance! I hope I explained everything clear enough for everyone to understand.

DVD Menus for use with Ulead Programs
VideoStudio
MovieFactory
CD&DVD Picture Show
DVD Workshop

All use a proprietory file format with a UFO extension which stands for Ulead File Objects. Each object is rather like a layer in Adobe Photoshop, I do not have Paint Shop Pro but no doubt that also uses layers albeit under another name. Those layers or objects have to be given specific names so that the Ulead programs know what each object/layer is and does.

Using Adobe Photoshop I experimented to see if I could create a DVD Menu that could be used in a Ulead Product. My results are published here:
TEST: PhotoImpact -v- Adobe Photoshop for creating DVD Menus for Ulead authoring programs.
