Audio Issue VS10

Post by parkerryan »

okay,
i'm using ulead videostudio 10.0

i'm a complete retard, i cant seem to figure out what i'm doing wrong,

i've used some clips that are in .mov format, and i clipped them all and the audio works perfectly when play each individual clip, but when played as a whole project, the audio is insane static and inaudible.

I assume that some of the video clips in MOV format are from Kodak or Olympus cameras?

If yes..

For MOV video clips from Kodak and Olympus, all I can suggest for now is to use Quicktime Pro to reconvert the video clip to MOV format and then import the renderd file to VideoStudio and then edit.

Though Ulead provided patch to correct this problem, I think not all instances that this patch/fix solves all the problem.

Don't be so hard on yourself!

These highly compressed formats cause a lot of trouble. The most compressed formats seem to cause the most trouble. The creators of these lossy compression schemes did not intend for them to be edited or converted... You are just supposed to play them back.

In theory, it should be possible to decode (de-compress), edit, and then re-code (re-compress) the file. In practice, it is often possible. There is always some qualty-loss when you re-compress a video file, but depending on the format & bitrate, the loss might not be noticeable.

The really annoying thing is that the hardware and software manufacturers don't warn you about this, and the software/codecs don't warn you when they are having trouble with a particular file, and they don't tell you what's wrong... They just fail...
