Question on VS11

Post by jhlent »

Ok, I have placed an order for the combined package of VS10 & PI12.
Order was places a few WEEKS ago...

When customer service was called - nothing BUT LIES...
Stating they didn't know when the product would ship...
Called again was told it would be shipping but again not sure when...
And every time told - NO REFUND ALLOWED
And then the e-mail today - -

Just got word today saying - VS10 is no longer available - ZERO mention of any such VS11... They stated they will be refunding the money.

Will this REALLY be released in the USA...?? If so when...??
I have another client waiting for a package of VS10 & PI12 - if this is not happening - I really need to know.

AND WHY...?? ZERO word from Ulead/Intervideo/Corel on this - are they really wanting to discourage people from buying...??

Who did you talk to about your order, Corel? According to Ulead's website VS10 is still available. However I've been attempting to access their site, and it is running very, very slow. In the past that seems to indicate they are doing some changes on the site.

If they stated they are going to refund, then I would take it. All I know is that based on history, Ulead always releases the next version at the last of April. I do know that VS11 has been released in Japan. So it should be any day that it is released in US.

Why no word? Because if they released word that the next version is going to be released on X_Date, do you think anyone would be purchasing the current version? No they would not, they would wait for the next version. That costs them money, and that's what they're in business for, to make money.

Just to verify, I think VS 11 + has not been released in Japan as it will be released on June 15, 2007.

I see your post here that the thread title that it was already released in Japan.

I might be wrong though.

Thanks.
The word on the grapevine is that it will be released very soon.

That is very strange, because the link, http://www.ulead.co.jp/about/release/2007/070417.htm is to Ulead-Japan. Why would they display that if it is not yet released? If you look at the URL it states About Release, then the page is of VS11... :o

Please email Ulead CS regarding possible product replacement when VS11+ arrives if you are qualified for upgrade based on the pruchased date of VS10.

Thanks.

FYI:

VS 11 has not been released even in Japan.

It'll be released in Japan on June 15, 2007.

Hopefully the English version will be released soon.

Soon as in don't hold your breath....

Sooner than June 15 - or soon than...??
Because 51 days sure isn't very SOON.....

NOT when you take orders for ver10 and hold the money for weeks - then say oops.......

All I can say is it will be released in English on a date before that designated as the release date for Japan.
Sorry but I have been asked not to elaborate further in case of any last minute tweaks etc.

I totally understand - where you are in this...

But look at it from the side of people that had their money taken from them and was refused a refund...

You pay for something and get ZERO back in return.
And when you call - 1 510-979-7118 - still ZERO answers and NO REFUND for weeks...

ZERO Honesty from them - Has Ulead slipped this far down
Is this what we should all be looking forward to from the "New Ulead"

It most likely will be very soon. I went into PC World this morning, and saw that for a limited time, they have VS 10+ (full) reduced to just under 20 quid.
They only ever seem to do this when a newer version is not far off, as I have learnt to my cost in the past. Had I not stumbled across this forum earlier in the week I might have been tempted to get it.
At the moment I have VS 9. I have found (with Photoimpact) recently that I am as well to get an upgrade from Amazon or the full version from PC World. I bought the PI12 upgrade through the Ulead UK online store, but then found that it was being shipped from Amsterdam or somewhere, and the cost of shipping, added quite a bit to the price.
ps. for some reason this forum doesn't like pound signs, it keeps showing as "£" :?: hence "quid".

English version will be released before the Japanese version, that means you will see VS 11+ in a few weeks (maybe in a few days).

I think May would be a VS month in the western world, as always.

Don't know whether this is the decision of Amazon or if Ulead have stepped in, but I just went to Amazon.co.uk then to Amazon.com to double check. I went to pre-order the upgrade to VS 11+ which they had on their site before. It looks like they are no longer going to be selling them, as they had been removed from both sites. PC world hasn't sold the upgrades for years.
As I stated before, I would rather buy the boxed upgrade from Amazon as the PhotoImpact 12 upgrade that I purchased directly from Ulead came to almost the same price as the full edition in the shops. The added price was the shipping.
I ordered it throught Ulead's UK website but for some reason it was shipped from Germany!!!
I've had upgrades from them before and they used to come from within the UK.
If my only choices are to buy the electronic download version or get ripped of on the postage, I think I'll upgrade pinnicle instead and let VS gather dust.

Just been on Ulead's site again and found this in the store notes
"This upgrade can only be purchased directly from Ulead. Upgrade is not available in retail stores".
Looks like it was Ulead that had it pulled from Amazon despite allowing them to sell upgrade versions of all the previous Videostudio editions.

What's wrong with an electronic download?
