Install UleadStudio v10 plus

Post by mikebosy1 »

Hi all
I'm going to install UleadStudio plus v10, currently I am using v8. Is there any tips from anyone on unistalling v 8 to make way for v10?
The reason I am asking is just in case the usual method of uninstalling leaves some bits and pieces hidden away, maybe in the Registery or files that have lingered.

This was the method that used to be suggested for totally removing VS8. Just bear in mind, though, that the two programs can co-exist quite happily on the same computer (I have VS 8, 9 and 10+ all installed currently). It was only the removal of VS9 which, if you accepted the default 'remove all' that took away a data file or two which was used by VS10.

Anyway, here is the procedure:

1) Clean up C:\Windows\temp directory. Uninstall anything to do with VS 8. Clean up all files in C:\Documents and Settings\[UserName]\Local Settings\Temp folder. Uninstall VideoStudio 8 from control panel Add/Remove programs.

2) Delete folder {4F1DA6BF-3614-48A1-9970-9E90F646789E} in C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information (Make sure you have set "Show hidden files and folders" in the folder option in Windows)

3) Delete the folder "Ulead VideoStudio 8.0" folder in C:\program files\ulead system

4) Run Regedit from Start/Run in Windows task bar

5) Delete folder {4F1DA6BF-3614-48A1-9970-9E90F646789E} in
KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\
