WMV HD in DMF 6 Plus

Post by xandix »

Hello,

sorry for my bad englisch.

I know its possible to import WMV HD Files in DMF 6 Plus.
Which Sizes shout they have (1440x1080 or 1280x720 or 1920 x1080 interlace or progressive)?
Can DMF 6 Plus output it to a HD DVD whitout render (to mpg2) (which is a degrade in quality)?
Because the HD DVD Standard allow WMV HD (known as VC1).
Or shut I import VC1 Files?

I wish to finalize all Video in a Third party application (as VC1; WMV HD), and only Author the HD DVD in DMF 6 Plus.
Is this possible?

Thanks for Answer

Hi,
No, HD-WMV is it's own format. A very nice one at that.
You can make your own HD-WMV video dvd's.

Hi,

I think you are making some confusion here.

VC1 is based on Windows Media 9 codec, which is been mentioned in the news article you introduced.

H.264 AVC is another codec as MPEG-4, not VC1.

WMV HD is another Windows Media codec for High Definition video, similar to VC1 but cannot be used for authoring a HD DVD.

You can use one of the following 3 codec for authoring a HD DVD disk: VC1, H.264 (AVC) and MPEG-2 HD. DVDMF supports MPEG-2 HD for HD DVD.

Hope this helps.

If my memory is not bad, yes, they will be converted to MPEG-2 HD.

It's not that bad. It's just another video codec encoded in the same video quality as H.264 AVC and VC1 in HD DVD / BD.

HTChein,
Thanks, I mis-read that article. It says Mpeg4 And VC1.
Going back to edit the post and leave the links.
