Almost no sound from capture

I have looked through much of the board, and I don't find an answer for this. I will be honest, I don't understand a lot of the technical language. I am using ADS Instant DVD + DV to run cameras, vcr, ect. through for capture. Using a VCR, dv camera, and older VHS-c camera, I've had no problems and have successfully captured and burned to DVD many home videos and slideshows in the last year with Movie Factory 2 SE. However, I have now tried a 8mm tape camera, and while the video has great sound on the playback mode of the camera, it is so quiet after capture that I thought there was no sound until I turn the speakers on my computer up to max and heard it very quietly. I have played it back on numbers media players on the computer and on the dvd player in my living room and the sound is the same, so I know it is the capture file. After reading some comments on the board, I changed the mpeg settings to LCPM, but to no avail. The audio is set to 100 on burning, so that's no help. Please someone help me?!
