Okay, so I finally found my disk for video studio 10 plus. And i deleted it just the way it said to on the ulead site in the knowledge base section. I did each one: Installation: 1. Simple reinstallation and Installation: 2. Clean reinstallation. And my VS keeps on crashing. Now it crashes the entire computer. Like it will be half way through to making a new movie and then my computer will just turn off.
If anyone knows of anyway I can get my Video Studio to stop this please help!

Hi GetFunky
My first thoughts were, overheating.
I do not think it is a software related issue. Although I am a little confused whether you downloaded the software or bought the boxed version, on disc. (just read your first postings)
Videoediting is very demanding on your pc resources, when rendering/creating a video file your Cpu probably runs at 100% and it gets a little warm, well hot. Most likely the first time your Cpu has seen such a demand!
This has probably nothing to do with your problem, but worth investigating.
As I said --------my first thoughts.
And as ArcAngel said (Can you please fill-up the system requirements in your profile)

What file format are you using? Where did your videos come from?
A corrupt video file can sometimes crash the Ulead programs. (A corrupt file will often play OK, but cause strange problems when you try to edit, convert, or re-encode it.)
Highly compressed MPEG-4 formats (including DivX and Xvid) seem most prone to corruption. It can also happen with MPEG-2. AVI/DV from a MiniDV camera rarely causes trouble.

If you can playback the file flawlessly in any video playback software and that video uses a codec that supported by VideoStudio, then you can assume that the file is okay and not corrupted.GetFunky wrote:thanks guys ill look into all the things that could be at fault.
And to trevor andrew see I downloaded it and then received my disc. make sense? Thanks everyone!
and if a video clip is corrupt how do I find out or get in uncorrupt?
Also, there might be a probelm with the frames encoding of the video or the video has too many dropped frames, etc..
No way to get a video clip uncorrupt if from download, you need to rerender from original source or recopy or redownload (depends on the source).
I might be wrong though as I found these softwares about software that can "repair" a corrupted video (I havent test any of these and I do not recommend these software as Im not affiliated with the respective software):

Troubleshooting your computer
You haven't told us anything about your video source files.
Despite MPEG files playing back correctly they can contain errors in the headers or in the program time stamps.
Two programs able to repair these errors are
Womble MPEG Editor
VideoRedo
You could try running the affected MPEG file through (the free trial versions) one of these and then import the file back into VideoStudio.
