Joining videos creates problem

Post by dvdeditor747 »

I use Dvd Movie Factory to edit tv programs I record with Windows Media Center XP. Sometimes the shows run into each other so that part of a sow in in one file and the other in another. I use the join video to make these clips one show. It used to work fine but recently I noticed wherever I join the video the final copy becomes pixilated and skips at that point. When it comes to copying the video onto a DVD sometimes this messes up the audio synchronization. What should I do?

Maybe under Preferences turning on the option "Create Index file for mpeg etc" may help. Hard to say if the mpeg2 file has some corruption in it.

1. Clean up temporary files using disc clean up.
2. Uninstall Dvd Movie Factory
3. Delete all temporary converted files in DVD MF's working folder
4. Reinstall the software
5. Apply applicable pacth(es)
6. Try to recreate the project.

Which version of MF are you using? MF4 had bad problems joining video clips but MF5 is much better, as long as they have the same properties
MF2, MF3, MF4, MF5, VS7, VS10+, VS12, Nero Vision Express. Ricoh and Sony 16x DVD recorder, Sony HC5 High def camera. Also Canopus ADVC110 for AV/DV input through firewire

First make sure you have installed the latest updates to MF4:
http://www.ulead.com/tech/dmf/dmf.htm

After doing this you can download the trial version of MF6+ and see if that works better. If you decide to purchase MF6+ I would download the ESD version & not activate a trial version. So if you purchase MF6+ purchase it through the Ulead website, download it. Un-install the trial version of MF6+, reboot and then install the ESD Retail version of MF6+.
You can also leave MF4 on your machine & retain the use of both programs.
