WinDVD on XP under Parallels on the Mac OS

I'm running a MacBook Pro and operate my Windows apps under an instance of XP Professional running via the Parallels dual-OS utility. Pretty much all my applications run fine within XP-under-Parallels except for WinDVD. I cannot get any of my versions of WinDVD (v.6 and below) to run. Does anyone know if later versions of WinDVD will run under Parallels? Or does anyone know of something I can do within the Parallels setup or XP setup to get it working again?
