Cannot get Video Editor to start

Post by Asterixlee »

I seem to be having a problem wherein i cannot launch ULead.
The Video Capture program launches just fine as does the Audio Editing but when i try to start up the Video Editor nothing happens. I've tried launching it from my task panel and from the directory i've installed it into. Nothing.

Welcome to the forums,

A couple of questions to help us figure this out..
  • What version of MSP are you using?
  • What OS are you running it on?
  • Have you been able to run MSP previously, and this just started occurring?
You might try exempting the video editor from DEP (Data Execution Prevention)... For instructions see this thread:

If you have the installation CD, you could try doing a repair install. If that does not help then try doing a complete un-install/re-install. Ulead programs leave a lot of files behind. So just doing a simple add/remove programs from the control panel and then re-installing may not correct some issues. Instructions can be found here : Re-installation of Ulead Products

I am using MediaStudio 8 on Windows XP Pro.
This is my first time actually trying to use the program, it's not a problem that's surfaced after I had been using the program for any amount of time.

I tried Disabling the DEP but no luck, thanks for the idea though.
I competly uninstalled MS and reinstalled it, did no good.
I used the repair option on the CD, still no luck.
I installed the Hotfix, that didn't work either.
I've tried opening Video Editor from the menu in the Video Capture. Nope.
