No Control On Volume Control

Hi I am using VS10 Plus I just purchased a new computer ( a little better the the last) it is a dual core something but it has a HD sound card

When I am capturing from my USB capture device (USB 2800)

Capture from Video from…. SVIDEO or Composite
Capture Audio From ….LINE IN

when I ask for the volume control to be shown It will not allow me to adjust the volume up or down it is set to the MAX and of course my audio is in the red and sounds like H_LL the only way for me to adjust it is in the windows volume slider and set it to 1 or 2 but the ulead volume is still showing the max

Does anyone have any idea ?

Check you Windows Volume control settings for RECORDING, not playback.

Yes I have the recording ticked in windows and I can adjust from windows but the Ulead Slider stays at the max and will not move up or down?
