Can MovieFactory 6 be configured to keep Closed Captioning?

Post by DVDTexan1 »

Importing files from my DVD recorder and burning copies keeps the Closed Captioning (line 21 data) intact. If I edit the file to add chapters or perhaps delete commercials, the Closed Captioning is lost. I really need the captions to work. Tools have been suggested to extract the data and then add it back after editing but this doesn't work because the edited out commercials still have the closed captioning and that gets put back in the file.

There should be a way to stop MovieFactory 6 from removing the Closed Captioning. It's better to jump over the commercials than to edit the video and have the captions several minutes out of sync. Is there a way to keep them? Is ULEAD working on a fix?

I will not try to pretend to understand it but the answer lies somewhere in this link

Ulead products do not handle the line 21 closed captioning.
