Opps I forgot one

Post by ramblreb »

The ability to group all tracks (Video, Overlay, Title, Audio) by selecting the ones you want to group. That way when you make a change to a video clip before the group you wont have to go through the whole project moving all the other tracks by the amount you streatched or shortened the earlier clip. Trying to get all your audio tracks in sync with the video after a small change is a big pain.

It's called Ripple Editing, and the last 2 or 3 versions of VideoStudio are capable of doing this.

Not exactly Jeff,

What remblreb is wanting is available in NLE's like MSP8. You can actually group several tracks together, which acts a little differently than Ripple Editing. When you group the tracks, you can move the grouped tracks to other tracks, or up and down the timeline.

The work round is to save the group as a separate project (vsp) and then import the project into the current one. Ripple editing would then move the entire imported vsp as one.

Wish List

Post by markyoungsmagic »

I'd like to be able to make a slideshow with automatic pan & zoom in the Movie Wizard without it adding all the junk before or after (the themes). OR Be able to add automatic pan & zoom to all image clips (at the same time, not individually) in the editing part of Videostudio. I think it should be easy to add a blank theme to the Wizard, don't you?

HowBout just updates and hotfixes

Post by Squawk_Ident »

I would like to see some up to date hotfixes patches and so on. especially with the problems I am seeing trying to run 11.5 on vista. You have a great product here as far as vs and you cant' please everyone. But the biggest problem that I see is the VS stopped working and will close, runtime errors, RAM files, c++ trouble etc....

so I guess all in all, it would be really nice if for the ones of us out here that have paid you money for the versions, how bout keeping us updated with patches and so on.....

that is all

The Wizard (I'm still in 10+) has a simple crossfade template which does exactly what you're talking about. I've started using it more to do sections at a time and have it sync nicely to my soundtrack. Just crossfade transitions, but the automatic random pans and zooms are nice and just need a little fine-tuning. You can also edit the start and stop points of your music in the wizard. Each time you go back to the wizard, it drops the new section right into the end of your timeline.

My other brilliant idea is to be able to right-click on a clip or still, or perhaps even transition, and select "replace with" so that you can replace it with all the attribututes of the existing without moving anything .... length (still), filters, etc. This would save a lot of time and aggravation, especially since you have to disable ripple editing (aaargh) when deleting anything from the timeline.

I would like the above to still be editable for fine-tuning. :D

I made the same request way back on an earlier page here. I took some flack for being frivolous. Thanks for recognizing this as a legitimate desire.

That said I worked around it for now by doing the following. Find the file 02SS_Multi_Display02.wvs from VS10 or 9 if you have one of these versions and copy it into this folder in VS 11 C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 11\EditingStyle\Style\SShow\NTSC. The file in VS10 is located in a similar location but I don't recall exactly. Just search the directory if you can't find it. Move the existing template file in that folder in version 11 somewhere else in case you decide you want to use it later. You are going to replace the funky slide show template with the bubbles etc. included with version 11 with the one from version 10 or 9. You will have all fade to black transitions from previous versions but.....this is now ok because version 11 will allow you to replace them with cross fade as a batch now by right clicking the transition.

I hope this makes sense

Sorry I made a small error in my instructions. Go to the third post down in this thread http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... highlight= and the correct instructions were posted by me there last August when I came up with it and it was fresh in my mind.

  • Automatically change preview window size for 16:9 projects.
  • Effect tab should default to My Favorites. Let user chose folder in Preferences.
  • Enlarge video filter preview screens to allow more precise control. This would be esp. helpful in the Crop filter.
  • Create a unified library. For example, when the program starts ask if use would like to create Project Library, then all video, audio, text, image assets would be together for a project. Also, this prompt should be enable/disabled through Preferences.
  • Get rid of current animated Video Filter icons as most are useless for describing what they do. Replace with text or better icons
  • Enable mouse scroll wheel to make adustments to all sliders, for example in Video Filters.
  • Enable a "Fit text to screen width" right-click (within the safe titling area).

In the library i'd like to be able to list the video clips as "details" like in windows where it shows the clips as the name of the clip rather than a thumbnail.
I'd also like to be able to rename them within the library.
An example: say i capture a 10 minute clip into the library
I would like to be able show it by name and rename it to master
then drag it onto the time line cut it into 5 clips drag them into the library
and call the first one titles the second one opening scene etc
so i have an idea what each video clip is.

If I understand you, you can do this. With the original clip in the library click twice (not double-click) on the name. You should then be able to rename it. (Bear in mind, you are merely renaming the thumbnail. The actual clip will still retain the original name unless you would change it in, say, Windows Explorer.)

After you cut the clip you can drag them back to the library where you can rename the thumbnails the same way.

Cool had tried right clicking to see if there was an option to rename, that's handy. Yeah i didn't want to rename the original file just the name that appears in the library. Now all i need is to display as "details".
Thanks Black Lab

Clevo -- I would be interested to know exactly what you mean by greater integration with Sonic Fire.
