I needed to go back after almost finishing a job and slightly adjust a clip between two transitions. I needed the duration of the clip to remain exactly the same but to slide/slip about 4-6 frames so I don;t lose audio sync later on down the project.

So...a wish for an easier clip slider.

After spending hours trying to sync audio perfectly, I would like to see audio "drop lines" corresponding to the downbeat of the music. I would think that since it has the capability to find the downbeat in the wizard, it should be able to do this in the editing phase.

I'd also like to second a few requests:

1. A dedicated library for each project, with check marks or something to indicate item already used.
2. Being able to delete a clip in ripple mode without deleting associated clips and audio tracks. Everything should just move over, a la Pinnacle.
(This is a pretty major annoyance and I'm waiting for it to be fixed before I upgrade from my VS10+)
3. Ability to resize elements of the workspace.
4. Ability to revise edits in a clip that was multi-trimmed without deleting and starting over.

Thanks,
Vicki

Well, if we add up everyone's wishes, let's see, yes. Corel needs to develop MSP9 and call it VS13, the lucky number!

Click on Audio View and you can "see" the beats.

You can create libraries using the Library Manager. Sometimes I rename the clip with an "X" to denote it's been used.

I was afraid that I would be misunderstood. I know that you can see the wave graph in audio view. Depending on the music, the downbeat is not always clear and the drop lines would be a big help.

You can create libraries using the Library Manager. Sometimes I rename the clip with an "X" to denote it's been used.
I have created the libraries, however, I would prefer to only see those photos and clips that I have imported for the particular project, not have to keep going back to the drop down menu to get back to them. Renaming the thumbnails is a good idea, but it would be nice if the program did it automatically. I can use up to about 300 photos in a project, so it would get pretty tedious.

And that brings up another request that I have read here- clicking on a photo should bring up the photo library in use, on a video, the video library, etc.

My wish:
- UVS have to be faster
- more flash animation
- more overlay tracks
- add more useful frame decorations
...and it will become the most powerful program in the world!!

I just purchased version 11, thinking I could upgrade to 11.5 for a price to edit avchd when I get there...
My request is simply mpeg4 outputs as a default for any version video studio. My mpeg2 at 10mbit (NON-HD) is horrifying in every encoding except h.264 and mp4v. I found them in the trial of video studio 11.5 plus and thought "finally, it has only been a decade of RETARDS with software." Ulead has it built right in.
I looked upon v11 outputs after purchasing and my jaw dropped..

THERE IS NO MPEG4 OUTPUT?!

I don't need to be guided to the wide open avi making free encoders offering mpeg4 part 2 or h264, I need the encapsulated real thing, .mp4, or .mov, or whatever. (Most know what I am saying about avi)

I may return my purchase when I receive it in the boxed retail version from ulead directly.

Wishlist for V12

Post by Quijote »

Hi folks,
I am requesting the ability to zoom the timeline to the frame level (not just seconds) and the ability to slide (nudge) overlay or audio tracks on a frame by frame basis to align music tracks recorded from an external mixer with the audio tracks taken by the camera.

I could request a lot of other things, but this one would get me the results I need. I threw away Premiere Pro to use V11.5 and love the product. I have a new AVCHD camera, so the ability to throw anything on the timeline and output it to anything else drove my purchase. If I just had the above ability, I could do everything I used to do with Premiere.
Best regards,
Quijote

I suggest the following options in future version of video studio

1). When you drag clip from the library, the dragged clip should show
tick sign mark on that in the library .so we can avoid to duplication
of clips dragging again the same clip by mistake. .(this option
already there is pinnacle studio)

2). Video studio not allow to in put more than 100 clips at time to import
library so the number of clips should be allowed unlimited
(this is useful when you import already split clips to the library at once.

3)). Shut down when encoding finished...this will helpful when you need
to encode overnight or batch conversion.

EDIT

4). After selecting all clips in time line and delete only audio together by
one click. At present we have to delete each clip's audio one by
one or mute the track).(this option already there is pinnacle
studio) :(

5). Should be allow to do variable speed within the single clips (Like
media studio Pro) without splitting clips.

edit: added:

6). Allow To split clips in second basis (I use 3 to 5 seconds (duration of
each clips) to make music video.

This should be a useful time saving feature.
Clips in the Overlay track do not automatically go the beginning of the timeline (if it's empty) or next to the last clip on the timeline. That only happens in the Main track. Clips in the overlays can be placed anywhere.
The inability to insert clips where we desire on the main track is the single thing that puts me off videostudio. I don't mind that it puts clips at the end automatically, it's just the fact that I can't slide the clip into a position I want and then, if I delete one of the previous clips, all the other clips move back in the timeline. Incredibly frustrating.

If the program did not "ripple" the clips in the main video track, you would need to go through and make sure there were no blank spaces before rendering.

I believe it's done that way so beginners don't leave blank spots in their video. Remember, VS is a consumer product, not a pro-sumer one. Those users that are more advanced know to clips in the overlay tracks to position them independently.

Two things.

A better title output. When I put titles in that are set to "FLY" so they scroll from bottom to top (like most pro credits) the letters seem to dance as they scroll up the sreen, all bouncing like little balls. Nice effect if thats what you were after.

The other thing is the addition of being OpenDVD Compliant so you can use other software to make changes without having to dig up all the source files used to creat it in the first place.
