Re: Linux version of Ulead
Most of us here would be happy if MediaStudio Pro was made Windows Vista compatible so I wouldn't build up any hopes of a Linux version.Amalthia wrote:I really wish Ulead Video Studio or Media studio pro was linux compatible.

There's no need to crush my hope!sjj1805 wrote:

I tried Vista once and it totally sucked. I had to take my laptop back to the store.

VS wish list
How about a little more control over titling function. Perhaps control such as a simple rich text word processor so that individual letters can be changed for color, bold, size, etc.
The title track should function as a title track (which it does) but a subtitle track needs to be added.
How about a couple more audio tracks with Dolby 5.1 capability on them.
A save button in the DVD creation portion of the program.
The scroll bar in the timeline view needs to have a way of scrolling at different speeds. When I have a large timeline, it is next to impossible to move it just a little.
Since you have the ability to name Cues/chapter points something discriptive, it would be nice if this carried over into the DVD creation portion of the program.
Ability to add the DVD player to the DVD disk. There was an option to do this under DVD MovieFactory 3.
A package type function where you can move a project and it's associated files to another machine.
Ability to control the DVD creation's priority or at least a pause button (like the render function has when exporting a file). I know rendering requires as much CPU as you have but it would be nice if it played a little bette multi tasking so you could read your e-mail or what ever while it works in the background. Perhaps some kind of timer function that you could set so it would do it's thing at that preset time.
Autofit in the DVD creation portion of the program. By this I mean the ability to cause the finished product to fit a certian size disk. I have created several disks that have just bearly exceeded the capicity of a 4.7GB single layer disk and am forced to burn onto a DL disk (more expensive). It would be nice if I could tell the program to make rendering adjustments to fit the smaller disk.
Ability in DVD creation process to either play a movie directly or view it's chapter's. Best way I can explain this is I have a movie with N number of chapter's. I don't want to have to bring up the chapter list to start playing the movie but I want the option to view the chapter list to start the movie as well.

Ability to use alternate pic or video in motion menus
It would also be nice if you couls use an alternate picture or video clip for the motion menu .

Please add capability/enhancement/patch to VS11 to allow users to capture videos/mpeg2 directly from the Hauppauge card WINTV PVR 1600 NTSC/ATSC/QAM. Hauppauge technical support has told me they supplied Ulead with the necessary information to add this card to the supportable list of VS11. Currently, user has to use Hauppauge software, save files, hope they are correct, then edit/create in VS11. One mistake and it's start over time.
Profile support for H.264 encoding
Apologies in advance if I'm repeating another post here - I couldn't bring myself to wade thru the whole thread!
I'd like to see a bigger list of encoding profiles available when encoding to H.264, preferably with the ability to import custom profiles, with the feature perhaps "hidden" under an advanced tab or button so as not to confuse new users.
The profiles could be in "families", with the highest quality profile making use of two pass encoding, and the quickest profile using single pass.
I'd love to be able to encode video, such as from digital cameras, at the native resolution. Although there is support for 640x480 and some resolutions appropriate to the PSP, larger resolutions would be useful when playback was intended to be on a pc.
The developers might well take a look at the open source community, and check out the features of a program called "MeGUI".
One advantage of being able to import profiles would be that it would be easier to support future devices with different screen resolutions. It's also a way of getting the best out of a codec without requiring users to know every aspect of it. Encoding performance can be tweaked without major changes to the program.

Title, Save and Undo.
I posted earlier indicating that I wanted better control over titles. More specifically, the ability to scroll through a title to perform word or character alterations. A little playing around and found out what my problem was. I was unable to scroll through my titles while they were in 'multiple' mode. Changing it to single and I could scroll around and do the simple alterations.
2 more things I would like added need to be grouped in the DVD creation process. One is the ability to save my project while in DVD creation mode. The other is to have an undo option in the DVD creation mode, more specifically in the portion where you position text on the menus.
