i'd just like to ask the difference between videostudio and mediastudio..

MSP is the more "professional" of the two and, hence, has a steeper learning curve. VS is geared more towards the typical consumer wanting to edit their home movies. VS is easier to learn, but doesn't have all the capabilities that MSP has.

With the convergence of Ulead, InterVideo and Corel it seems that MSP may be faded out, and VS may incorporate some of MSPs advanced features.

For newbie, I dont have anything to reccomend but VideoStudio.

You can always download the MSP trial and take it for a test drive.
