Scratch Audio

About a month ago I bought VS10+ to produce DVDs fro video I've edited on Media Studio Pro 6 (a program that I love). Under most cases, it does a very good job.

I then dedcided to try editing with VS, but I am curious as to how you edit when there is no audio when scratching either on the timeline or in the preview box? I get audio everywhere else. I've gone thru the FAQs, the preferences and spent a lot of time playing with it before finally going back to MediaStudioPro.

I have checked the forum for about three hours, but this questions isn't obvious.
