Do you get sound when using WinTV2000
If so my advice is to record with WinTV2000 and then import the recording into VideoStudio.

Yes - sound with wintv2000
Really trying to get away from wintv2000.

Already seeing better picture, faster responce and other nice features
with Video Studio 10.

And I did not just spend $130.00 to jump between 2 programs.

My views on TV Capture cards are that they work best with the software that ships with the card because that software is specially made or tweaked for that particular card. I use WinTV2000 for all my Hauppauge TV recordings from my PVR350 card and also my HVR1300 card.

The capture modules found in Video Editing suites are general purpose and useful where you have come by a piece of hardware, perhaps second hand, and did not get the capture software with it. The capture module of the Video Editing suite becomes your 'get out of jail free' card.

It's a bit like the difference between a tailor made suit and one bought of the peg.

WinTV recordings are horrible.

All I need is sound and I am good to go.

Cant wait to see how recordings look compared to wintv if I can get
this sound thing fixed.

Video Studio 10 advertises that it can capture and record
from tuner cards.

Yes it does. From my experience though the recordings are no better or worse than WinTV2000. Perhaps you need to adjust the settings in WinTV2000.

The procedure in VideoStudio is not unlike that in MovieFactory as per this link:

Create a DVD from a Hauppauge TV Card
