MS 8 Trial Crashes with Flash 8 SWFs.

Post by craftycurate »

I wonder if any of the registered users can help me with a quick question:

MediaStudio 8 (8.00.028) Trial crashes frequently when previewing movies containing Flash 8 SWFs.

A patch was issued for this, but I can't find out if it was fixed as patches do not apply to trial versions.

Has anyone worked with Flash 8 SWFs in the latest patched version - has this been fixed?

Thanks in advance
Richard

I have not had any crashes using any SWFs in MSP8. These are SWFs produced in Flash-8 or Flash-8 Pro? They should not be much if any different then those supplied with like VS or authored with other flash-authoring programs. I have not produced any using Flash-8 Pro, however have using Swishmax. Again I have not had any crashes using any SWFs.

One thing that you could do, is instead of authoring a SWF in Flash-8, render an AVI file, and bring that into MSP.

Thanks for that - are you using the latest patch (which I think is 8.10.0039)?

I'm also using Swishmax to produce the AVIs, so not possible to create an AVI that retains the Flash 8 visual features.

Thanks

The Flash crash issue is been fixed in the MSP 8 Service Pack (8.10.0039). However, to get the service pack you need to buy MSP 8 first.

Ulead MediaStudio Pro - Update Pack:

I have updated my Flash player to v9.0 and MSP still works fine.

Hi all,

i have the same problems with flash. Servicepack is installed. I deinstalled Flash ActiveX-Player and installed it again. Same problems. I also had a try with Flash 9. Same results.
Has anybody an idea, how I can fix the problem without installing the whole system (XP, MSP, etc.) again?

Thanks,
Andreas
