Working Folder Will Not Change!!!

Post by davidrgm »

I have exhausted all of my options trying to change the working folder of VideoStudio 10. I'm running on Vista and have installed the SP1 and the vista patch on this machine.

I have gone into Preferences and changed the working folder to G:\VideoTemp. When you go to burn the DVD it wants to go to C:. I went digging through the registry and I found the problem. When you hit Next to burn the DVD, it changes the Registry Entry right back to C:\blah bla. What the crap!! Is there a fix for this? I don't have the room on my C: drive to burn this DVD and everytime I change the registry entry, it changes right back. Help appreciated.

Have you changed the working folder for the burn module? This is a separate Preferences then the one for the Editing. In the burn module (Share>Create Disk) click on the document looking icon, first one on the lower left, and select Preferences. Bottom of the General tab, change the Working folder.

I got it. I had to check the box to Create DVD Folders and change that path. That did it. This is poor design on ULead's part. This is something that needs to be fixed. If I weren't a computer geek to start with I would have never figured this out.

In the burning module you should still change the "Working Folder" under "Preferences" F6 Hotkey. Especially if your OS drive is low on disk space.
If you don't reassign the working folder then the Burning Module will use the default for temp files which in your case would be your OS drive that's low on disk space.
