Is it possible to edit images after importing them into a video? I joined two videos in order to create a chapter, then I imported a couple of images into that same chapter of the two joined videos. But now I cannot edit the images that are now embedded in the chapter.
Do I need to remove the images, edit them in Slideshow, then re-import them into my chapter? I tried to un-join the chapter in order to edit the images within MovieFactory, but Join/Separate was grayed out.
So I guess I have two questions: 1) can you edit images after importing them into a chapter of joined videos, and 2) how in the heck do you un-join a chapter?
Please help. Thanks!!!!

Once imported into your video they are no longer images but they are a part of the video.
Normally you edit your images with PhotoImpact or another similar photo editor before using them with your video.
You haven't told us which version of MovieFactory you have, each new version includes more tools and abilities than its predecessor.
MovieFactory 6 includes a slide show edit room with some tools such as express fix. You must remember though that MovieFactory is a DVD Authoring tool, not a photo editor and so what is offered in the way of photo enhancement is very basic.
A quick way to extract an individual frame from your video is to go to the Add media tab move the preview slider until the image you want appears on the preview screen, right click and an option to 'Capture Image' will appear. This then saves that frame as either a JPG or BMP image - dependant upon what you have set in your preferences.

Thank you for replying so quickly! I use MovieFactory 6.0 (not PLUS) in Vista Home Premium. It just made sense that because MovieFactory includes the slide show edit room, then you can then edit your images when you preview your entire video before burning it to disk. Otherwise, what's the point of previewing if you can't go back and fix your photos. In other words, why offer the option to import images into your video if you can't go back and fix them after previewing?
By the way, the slide show edit room does a pretty decent job of improving photo quality - I just hate that I have to redo my chapters. Oh, do you how to un-join two videos?

By un-join I suspect you mean to Cut or Split them? If so then in the Edit Room go to Time-Line view. You can use the Scissors to cut the video clip where you want it "un-joined". Now you will have 2 clips, that you can use each as a chapter, or to have 2 separate clips each being a Title you then need to do the following.
After cutting the clip, select the last half, and delete it. Then go back to the Main Timeline, and select Insert Video, and insert the same vide clip. Go back into Edit Room, place the play head at exactly the same frame as you done previously, and cut. This time delete the first half. Now you have 2 video clips in the Main time-line that are considered Titles, and can have chapters added.
