Cannot import sound from DVD

Hi All
Using VideoStudio v8 I have tried to import video footage from a DVD recorded from TV via my DVD recorder.

I can import video perfectlyfrom the DVD but there is no sound. The sound is OK with other projects in VideoStudio. Can someone advise me please

The DVD recorder almost undoubtedly used Dolby audio. And I am afraid VS8 was not made to handle Dolby. There was a plug-in you could buy for this, but it is no longer available as far as I am aware...

Does your DVD recorder give you any choice as to the audio format it uses?

I didn't think of problem being at the source of audio. No, there are no settings to change audio format. I'll try recording the audio as a sound file and import it to the audio track. (and hope for synchronisation !)
Will let you know how I get on.
