Import DVD by Chapters - Audio Drop-out at out mark

Post by Kellie_W »

Hi,

I have had great success importing by chapters, DVDs created by my church to capture various events. However, when I take two successive chapters and lay them end to end on the timeline, at the very end of the first chapter, the audio drops out for a few frames. This also happens when I set the in / out markers of a section of video.

As an example, play a short piece of video in the viewer towards the end. At the point where the video ends, the marker continues to advance past that point a frame or two. No matter what I have tried, backing up the out marker, the effect is still the same, the audio cuts out a frame or two before the video actually is done.

This problem produces a dropped audio for a frame or two in the final rendering.

Is there some setting I have missed, or is this a problem with ???

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Check that you haven't inadvertantly got fade in/out selected
please see Clip Volume

Hi SSJ,

Regarding your comment about a fade. No. I am an experienced Adobe Premiere 2.0 user and also have been using ULEAD since version 8.

But thanks for the reply anyway. Maybe someone has had this experience, or one of the experts can try it on their end.

You may be better off importing the complete video from the dvd. This way the mpeg2 file will be continuous. Then edit accordingly.
When importing just check the top box in the import module. All the chapters will be highlighted. If you have the top box checked the whole mpeg2 file will be extracted to the harddisk.
