Hello,
I hope anybody can give a clue of what is happening.
I just installed windows xp sp2 as operating system. When I try to capture video via 1394 firewire using msp 8, an error pops up saying: "Unexpected error: This pin does not support media type"
Whenever I open mps 8 video capture, I can hear the camcorder sounding for a moment. when I press record, I see the time code moving in msp8. However there is no video preview.
When I press stop, The 'unexpected error pops out. As to video captured, it will capture 1 second of video and that's it.
I tried capturing with VS9 and Win 1-2-3. The same results.
thank you for any ideas.

p.s.: I tried to capture with windows movie maker and it captures alright but there are like small 'streaks' on close=up like 'old-tv' look. So I prefer to capture in msp8. Thank you.
