Problems with slide transitions on the overlay track

Post by jydsker »

I have a presentation that I am working on. In the VideoStudio window these transistions come through just fine. When I create an ISO fil, and then burn to DVD, the DVD will show the first clip, but it never swithes to the 2nd one. btw, the clips are back to back. I have other clips that are in the same track that work just fine when burned to disk, but they aren't back to back.

Hi

Welcome to the forum.

I do not understand the phrase ¡¥Back to Back¡¦, others on the forum may have ideas. Can you explain.

Ok

After editing your video do you Share-Create Video File
Or
Do you go Share Create Disc

It may be advisable to Create a Video File first
Then Share Create Disc-Add Video file.

Still not sure what ¡¥Back to Back¡¦ means

Problems with slide transitions on the overlay track
I'm a bit confused, because you can't put transitions in an overlay track (hopefully v11 will sort that out  ). Can you elaborate?

sorry for the confusions. I am a bit unfamiliar with this software so I might not be using the correct verbage.

On the overlay track I have a spot where I have 4 .jpg slides that are butted up against each other. It is actually the same image with 4 slight changes to it, hence the 4 .jpg slides. What is supposed to happen is as the voice is talking it goes from the 1st to the 2nd, etc. to the 4th, and then back to the video.

What is happening is that it gets to the first slide and shows it for the duration of time that the 4 slides should be on the screen, and then it goes back to the video.

In the project viewer, it works perfectly.

As for creating the disk, I go to Tools - create disk, don't do the menu, and the from the source and destination screens, I am only clicking on the option to create the .iso file. I create the file, and then burn it to disk.

Okay, that clears it up a bit.

Let me ask you this. Are you going to Share > Create Disc with your project in the timeline? If so, that can sometimes cause problems. You may want to try going to Share > Create Video File to create a DVD compliant mpeg. Once that is done start a new project, but don't put anything in the timeline. Then go to Share > Create Disc. That will take you to the burn module where you will then insert your mpeg file.

That's known as the Suggested Workflow.
