problems with Windvd 8 pl

a user at my company is having issues with windvd, the program worked on her very old laptop, however it was time for her to get a new laptop (a Dell) and when i installed windvd now when she rewinds and then clicks play the app keeps hanging. I looked in the event log and it just states that the app hung. I have tried calling tech support which didn't help, they said that they would forward it to the engineering department. Video driver along with bios is current. She is running Windows XP by the way. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The problem is the Intel duo processor on the Dell laptop. Dell just issued a bios update that fixes the issue. After i reinstalled it worked fine. Just thought i would share.
