Greetings All,
This will probably seem like a silly question to experienced users but here is the question:
- I have an AVI I need to edit for content. Specifically, I need to delete some of the footage and remove it from the main video so that the content is "cleaned up".
I am running Video Studio 10 and I am struggling with how to do this specifically. Marking out the sections is easy enough, but the actual removal is what is getting past me. For whatever reason it just isn't that intuitive to me.
Can someone clarify for me and help with step-by-step directions?

Definitely read those links Steve provided, a lot of useful info there. A simple step by step to cut out footage though...
Imagine your trying to remove the adds from a TV show.
1. Place your whole video in the timeline.
2. Find the first frame of the adds you want to remove, then click the scissors icon under the preview screen to split the video.
3. Find the first frame after the adds you want to remove, then click the scissors icon again.
4. This should leave you with three thumbnails in the timeline. Before the adds, the adds, and after the adds. To delete the adds just right click on the thumbnail and select delete.
The same theory applies if you want to trim the start or ends of a video. If you want to remove the start, find the first frame you want to keep, click the scissors, right click the first thumbnail and delete. To remove the end, find the first frame after your video, click the scissors, right click the last thumbnail and delete.
peace.

The procedure I have described here :-

is for version 9 - but the basics remain the same in version 10 although all the buttons and icons are in different positions they all work much the same.
