Read the top of the Web Board, it states Intervideo-Ulead User to User Web Board. It further states that Ulead Support is not obliged to answer in this forum. They do follow that last statement quite well.

It is on very, very rare occasion that a representative from Intervideo-Ulead appears, and generally they do not respond to posts. This Web Board/Forums were created for us Users to help each other out the best we can.

So far most of us senior members are from the Ulead programs, and did not or do not have any Intervideo products. These were recently added after all the merging and buy-outs. So we try to provide the answers and work-arounds if we have them..:(

Interesting - such a complicated answer for an easy question like that.

And the Intervideo Support even didn't reply to my email since one week.

As i can see you force me to get the updates elsewhere...

You're right, the answers from this "admins" and here are most useless... for every problem they say you have to reinstall WinDVD. Haha!

From Intervideo support I got for my problem since 3 weeks no answer!

To your question: You can try to update your retail version with the download trial version: http://www.intervideo.com/WinDVD/WinDVD_Download.jsp

But for me this don't work! This is the cause why I try to get an answer from intervideo support...

@vidoman: I have too questions:

- Will WinDVD 8 be supported in future?
- Will be there any new hotfixes/updates developed?

Thanks!

I wished I knew, however I'm just a user/customer of Ulead products. Even while I was beta-testing, we would not be priviledged to that type of information. We would hope that they will release some patches and fixes for this. However since the big boss is now Corel, it is still unknown what their gameplan is. If you look around the forum, you will notice that several Ulead applications such as MSP, DVDWS2 are disparately needing updates, more then just Vista compatibility.

Intervideo's website states that Vista is a supported OS for WinDVD 8. If I recall, it is the latest release from Intervideo.

@vidoman: thanks for this information! Not good at all...

Yes it's funny that Intervideo's website states that Vista is a supported OS for WinDVD 8 and the Trimension feature don't work in my Vista Home Premium... The other things seems to work, but I need Trimension. This is the cause why I bought WinDVD 8.

So I need updates and hotfixes! But I can't update the buyed retail version from a shop because there will be an error at the end of the installation process when tying to update to version 8.0.6.109 downloaded from the intervideo website.

Then I found on the Japanese intervideo ftp-Server this WinDVD Version:
8.0B006.164-46420.WinDVD.SD.IODATA.iUpgrde.exe
With this version I can do an update for the retail version without problems! But Trimension still don't work with Vista with this update... :(
