DVD WILL NOT PLAY ON ANY DVD PLAYERS

Post by andreamommby »

Hi

I've just installed the updated cd/dvd burner from the Ulead site for moviefactory 2.0, and I was finally able to successfully burn a dvd again ( it stopped working for some reason ). But now, the dvd I burned will not read on any of the dvd players I've tried. I get audio, but no pic on one player, and the rest just won't recognize the disc. Any opinions/fixes?

Thanks in advance,

A

2.0 ??????

Please tell us a little more about what you are doing. The Read This First post tells you what we need to know in order to help you.

Does it play on the computer with your software DVD player?

What kind of file did you "feed" Movide Factory?

Did you tell MF to make a DVD, or did you simply copy an audio/video file onto the DVD? When you open the DVD with Windows explorer, do you see the normal AUDIO_TS and VIDEO _TS folders? Are there .VOB files in the VIDEO_TS folder?

Hi

Thanks for responding. I've been using moviefactory 2 for about 3 years now, and have never had a problem before. I'v burned dozens of dvd's with mpgs and avi's, set menus, put music and all that jazz. Then I watch them on my tv, or my mothers, or my husbands, and they all work. Last week I tried burning a dvd and it kept crashing and giving me "unspecified error" messages. So, after about 10-15 attempts, I downloaded the cd/dvd burner updates from the ulead site, and installed them. Then I was able to burn my dvd----joy, I thought. However, it won't play on any of the dvd players I've tried except my husbands laptop ( which is brand new ). It doesn't play on my computer, or the one at work either. It it a Vista thing? Because my husband has Vista. Anyway, the update didn't mention anything about Vista, so I would assume that's not the problem.

Firstly, MovieFactory 2 is now classed as a phased out product.

Next did you read this:

As for Vista your statement is back to front, things are NOT Vista compatible unless told otherwise.
