Doesn't work on Win2000 anymore?
-> One sale lost.
This my understanding of it.
I have been proven wrong on several occasions in my life. It's not going to improve.

Will it work in Windows XP because I have that version of Windows. I managed to translate the page using a page translator and it says the product is going to be released June 15, 2007 A.D.

Yes they say XP sp2 is supported, but not Win2K (as with DMVF6 so this is no real surprise.)

Thus VS10+ is the end of the road for me...

I can't read Japanese but judging by one of the pictures they look like they've provided the ability to expand the timeline to see all overlay tracks simultaneously.

Something that always bugs me, cured - Yippee!

Same here

It would be nice if Corel USA would get their head out of their $#@ and release this information in English / German / French, something we have a shot of translating, so we can see just what version 11 offers.

It may not be worth updating for many of us if it's only a few new formats supported, although from the pictures on the press release, something more is there.

I am surprised they kicked Win 2000 to the curb so quickly. It's a business decision and I understand that, however, if I have to go out and buy a new machine for video, I might as well look at something more powerful in a video editing program and that will not be VS. :x

If you do a Google search for VideoStudio 11 some Japanese articles come up and you can just click Translate and they are readable (but don't always make sense  )

Looks like some of the improvements are (I think - it's tough to decipher):
AVCHD support
Revolution/angleing of text
A Favorites folder for effects, etc.
Can insert Date/Time info on video
Noise Removal and White Balance filters
Costs 15,540 yen

I would not buy XP now, so to go the Vista way would mean
Vista itself
new mobo (mine is maxed out on CPU),
new CPU, + cooler
new RAM,
new VGA card (mine is AGP...)
maybe new PSU

A little much for a 60-70 euro update of a soft. Not this year....
This my understanding of it.

Does UVS11 addresses some of the UVS10+ wish list , in particular the ability to use the transition effects on the overlays tracks ?

Hard to tell, I can't read Japanese and the translation leaves much to be desired

Have to wait till Corel decides it's time to let the rest of the world know what's going on.

Will it have A-B Roll or video track edit? Or does VS 10 have it and I have not figured it out yet?

What I need is to be able to show Clip '1' or Clip 'A', do a cut away to Clip 2 or Clip 'B' with the sound track of Clip 1 or Clip 'A' still going and then back to Clip 'A'.

You can do this in Adobe Premiere without any problems and this is what I need with VS 10 or VS 11.

Those are called J cuts and L cuts and can be done in any video editor.
You simply separate the sound from the audio and make your cuts, as their names imply like a J or an L.

VS 9: J-cuts and L-cuts
