Need Help

I have a IBM thinkpad R51E 1844-EUU 1.6g cpu, 2G ram, 100g hardrive, 128 MB radeon integrated graphics, on Vista. When I got my laptop it had XP PRO with Win DVD 5 installed and it worked great!!!! At one point I installed Win DVD 8 Gold and when I would play a DVD the drive would run full torqe the whole time,

not good....

I was unable to get any help from InterVideo So I uninstalled it. When I had XP I tried other programs as well same thing, only Win DVD 5 works now I have vista and Win DVD 5 is not compatible.

I need help. Please help me.

there's a subsoftware from Nero called Disk Speed, which lowers your maximum drive speed. I don't think it's a standalone app, but it's definately included in Nero 6 or 7.

Or, try using Windows Media Player 11 for DVD playback, since WinDVD is on your computer, you have the codec to play it in WMP.
