I'm sorry, but you have posted a number of questions, some of them very elementary. This forum cannot really be expected to replace the manual, especially when you have not complied with the instructions in the "Before you post" thread at the top of this board.

Have you read the MSP8 instruction manual? If not, I suggest you seek the info there; at the least, it will give you an insight into what MSP8 does and your increased understanding should help your learning curve to progress.

You may wish to look at Charlie Hills' Getting Results book, as well. This covers the process of achieving results from the elementary to the complex.

The third source of self-help is this forum (and others), not by asking a multitude of questions, but by reading what is already there, including all the tutorials as well as the specific boards, like this one.

I have a practical suggestion. MSP8 is not an easy application to understand and learn and it takes some time before you will be fluid enough with it. VideoStudio has a much shorter learning curve and is more intuitive. I respectfully suggest you download and use the trial version (you have a month to do so) to familiarise yourself with the basics of video and its terminology. When you are satisfied that you have a good grasp of it, then you will have a much better understanding of how MSP8 can work for you.
