I am having complaints of DVD playback problems. I did a kids hockey dvd for the team. I used Benq dvds and used moviefactory.
I did spot checks on it and seems to work fine for me but I had complaints from few of them where half way through it would start to skip or just freeze occasionally and in other cases had trouble starting. I got the dvd back and tried playing it on my dvd player and it worked fine, I burned that same person another dvd and it worked fine for them. Since I had couple people with complaints I am starting to think it may be poor dvd quality. Has anyone had any similar problems and have any suggestions. Also are these dvds susceptible to damage over time. Any help is appreciated.

In the Burn step of DVD MovieFactory, look for an item named Quick Eject, uncheck it and then burn it again. This is because some DVD players cannot accept DVDs burned in this mode.
If that does not fix the problem, try the update packs in http://www.ulead.com/tech/dmf/dmf.htm if you are not using DVDMF 3.5 or DVDMF4.
If all of above do not fix, I suggest you to try some other brands.
Hope this helps.

Some things to look at...
other things to consider:
-sticky labels (don't use them)
-video+audio bitrate too high (try to keep at/under 7mbps)
-burn speed (try burning at 4x or lower)
-don't overfill the disc -- try to keep total disc space used to under 4gb (the DVD5 disc burns from center towards outer edges -- the outer edges can be problematic at times -- especially on "cheaper" discs)
-media compatibility (some dvd players do better depending on the media -- DVD±R/RW, and then even within a specific type, some do better with brand "x" vs. brand "y")
-different dvd players have different compatibility -- check "DVD Players" at videohelp.com
