Hi,
I have an aopen vx2000 xrecorder external USB TV card, however I can't find the installation cd's. I know that the vx2000 used video@home by ulead but I can't find any download link on the aopen or ulead site for this software, and I can't find any other software that supports the Cirrus Logic USB dvr2 chipset this uses. All I want this for is to watch and record analogue TV, can anyone give me any suggestions on how I can either get a replacement copy of video@home or alternative software that is compatible with the VX2000 xrecorder.
Thanks
Liam

How long ago did you get this "Video@Home"? I think that Ulead replaced this with Video Toolbox http://www.ulead.com/vtb/runme.htm.
However you are going to need proof of purchase. If your Video@Home came bundled with your USB TV card, then it is an SE (Simple Edition). They are free, watered-down versions that are included with hardware. The hardware manufacturers tend to tweak them to work with their hardware. You would have to contact the retailer where you purchased your hardware, to see about getting replacement CDs.
Is this your package? http://usa.aopen.com/products_detail.aspx?Auno=1126

The Ulead@Home is bundled, freeware. Other then the retailer, I don't know where you're going to be able to get replacement CDs....

No I would not say at this time it would. I have read where there have been problems with compatibilty with certain ADS Tech devices.
Did your capture card come with any other software for capturing, like CapWiz? If so, and if you still have it, use that to capture. Then you can use whatever video editing application to edit your video.

I thought you might say that
I do agree though I think in the case of hardware drivers or utility software which is required to use a bit of hardware it should be possible to freely download from the manufacturer, which in this it was, just took a little longer than I expected to find the right page.
