Creating custom Project Settings in VS10+

Post by pkcouch »

Hello,

I have noted through reading references and threads in this forum that you can customize MPEG settings (bit rates, compression quality, frame size, etc.) under Project Settings. When you hit the 'Change MPEG Settings' button, a standard listing of templates comes up with 'customize' at the bottom of the list.

I was wondering if in VS10+ there was a way to create/save your own template and have it placed in the listing with all of the other standards (HQ/GQ/SP/etc).

(the cog wheel in the lower left hand corner of the window launched by Share/Create Disc is where I am accessing the Project Settings)

I have not used VS9 in a long time, but vaguely recall this being an option in that program? I would like to do the same in VS10+. Thank you in advance for any advice given.

I do it using Tools > Make Movie Manager. The first dialogue box which appears allows you to select "New" or modify existing templates. Choose New. The next dialogue box allows you to choose the format and assign it a name. Make the name meaningful. Then click OK.

A new box with three tabs will appear, allowing you to set the properties, compression, audio etc. When satisfied, press OK again, then Close.

Next time you go to Share > Create Video File, you will see your new name down at the bottom of the list, but above 'Custom'.
