preview slower

my video is avi...but it sometimes play incorrectly...i neen to wait for seconds

The more complex the timeline, the longer it takes for the pre-render before "instant" preview, but it rarely takes more than a few seconds.

If you just have an avi file on the timeline the play back should be OK.
The more complex, the more hickups.

When you create the final video and select avi (DV video encoder) the quality will be the same as the source.
