Background music in DVD menus made by MF6+

Is it possible for MF6+ to create a background music track that doesn't restart each time a different selection is highlighted in a DVD menu? I would like the music to play through without being affected by what's highlighted. Thanks in advance.

Instead of using a "SmartScene" menu template, try a Thumbnail menu template.

Many thanks, that certainly did the trick! One other question though: if I have twelve clips in the main menu, four clips to a page, does the music have to restart with each change of page? I'd like it to continue with each page change but it seems to restart no matter what template I use. Thanks again.

Unfortunately, the music will restart each time you change menus. In fact, that is what was happening with the SMartScene menus -- as you changed thumbnails, it was actually changing menus, and so the music will restart.

You could try to fit more than 4 per menu (to minimize the number of menu changes) by creating your own templates (in PhotoImpact -- there are some tutorials here in the Tutorials section), or customizing an existing template layout.
