Hi
I'm a new newbie.
Just want to know if I can use the Avermedia DVD EzMaker USB Plus with Ulead Video Studio 10 plus?
For those who don't what the Avermedia DVD EzMaker is? Here's a link to it.

There are a number of previous posts concerning the EZMaker Capture device. Use the Search function and currently there are 42 matches.
The advice we give with any capture device is that it normally comes with its own specially tweaked software and it is normally best to capture with it. Once the video is on your hard drive you can then import the video into the Ulead product of your choice.
Although the Ulead products do have the ability to capture from a wide variety of sources you should think of it like buying a new suit.
Is it best to get one tailor made (The specific capture device) or off the peg (A general purpose capture program such as Ulead)

What you could do is download the 30 day free trial of VideoStudio 10+ and see if it works. This will help you decide if the product is right for you.
You will need to check the Cyberlink programs to see if they can export your video, preferably in DV (an avi format) or failing that MPEG2.
If they do not allow you to export then as suggestd above, the trial version will include all of the capture functions contained in the full version.

You should be able to capture using Power Director. Then insert your captured video clips into VS10+. It looks like with Power Director you will be capturing to MPEG-2, and try to make sure iit is DVD Compliant MPEG-2.
VS10+ can edit MPEG-2, there are some users that edit that format successfully on a regular basis. Keep in mind that you need to make sure that your Project Properties and Video Clip Properties match, AND maintain that through to burning a DVD. Also when you get ready to create a video file from your project that you have Smart Render active. This way only the changes you make will be recoded, the majority of the video clips will be Smart Rendered.
When you prepare to burn a disk, Video Folders or create an ISO file, that you have "Do not Convert DVD Compliant MPEG files" checked.
